Why didn’t they go to Afghanistan, see for themselves, and ask hard questions? I suggest that this article is as much an indictment of the Congress and the media as it is of the military senior leadership. There is nothing new here, however, this is a solid summary of the falsehoods and misperceptions about what was (and is) happening in Afghanistan. The notion that this is another Pentagon Papers is absolute garbage.
